We were looking for a soft toss net for our 11u travel team with the following: 1) Easy/quick assembly 2)Quality construction 3)Durability 4) Good in the wind 5) Cost effective
In addition, we researched all the other brands and wanted to avoid the cheap/small fibergalss rods that break after the first or second use, and something the whole team didn't have to help breakdown/fold up just to fit it back into it's case. So far we haven't had any problems with the case, and have been using it several times a week for 3 months now.
We found it in this product. Very well made, the two fiberglass rods on each side are larger/thicker and aren't being asked to be bent in half to perform. The net is high quality as is the stitching. We have had absolutely no problem using this in sustained 20mph+ winds. We utilize the stakes but the frame hardly moves without them becuase it is designed correctly.
Since it's so easy to move, we also use the net during the week at practice with OF throwing drills to different bases if our IF are doing other drills, use it as a backstop for pitching on the side if one is not avialable, catchers throwing to bases (bottom of net being the target)...and many others. You find uses for it besides just soft toss.
Buy this with confidence that you are getting what you pay for in the product and piece of mind that you wont be returning it next week.
We aren't affiliated with the manufacture or baseball express, just happy to report on a product out there that deserves it.

My daughter is a member of a competitive travel ball team, and we have four of these Big Mouth nets, they all have the same problem, very poor seam construction.
Every one of the nets the seams fail after a very short time, the newest net failed after the first day. The main issues are the two piece nylon poll pocket on either side of the net where the polls pass through.
These pockets are two piece fabrics that have an outside seem that will, and has failed, on all of our nets. To fix this issue a seam strengthener should be sewn into the fabric on the outside to prevent the seam from pulling out from the pressure of the bow in the polls. A better design would be a one piece fabric design where there is no outside seam and this fabric is sewed to the stronger netting material.
All of our nets needed to be re-sewn by an outside company to repair or strengthen this area.
The concept of the net is great, it's just the execution of the design is poor in some areas. When these nets become un-serviceable we will be switching manufactures unless this design deficiency is addressed.

We make use of our bow net at home, at practice and on game day. It is very simple to set up and does not require as much space as most nets.

Comments about BowNet The Bow Net Big Mouth Practice Screen:
I've coached for all over 8 years, and I've bought and used a number of nets, like the Easton that comes with poles, and the Jugs blue net. This is by far the best. The others form a 3 feet side circle that requires some maneuvering if I take the smaller vehcile. The Bow Net takes up a much smaller rectangular footprint that fits in the back of my hatchback on top of the equipment bags. It's also easier to set up and fold up. I was the only one who could ever fold up a Jugs - others who tried always ended up folding it wrong and ripping my bag. Now, it's no problem for anyone to take down. Set up was also super easy even though there were no directions in my pkg (mistake?). But the set up was so intuitive, that I figured it out in 10 minutes, and now I can set it up in 2-3 minutes.
It has stakes, but I've never had to use them yet b/c the design is that good. I've even had monster-sized 13 year olds hit soft toss into the net, and at most, it bends but stays in place. Be sure to get the big mouth one as it's better for absorbing hits and keeping the balls close (no ricochet).

This is a great net. You can put it up and take it down very quickly. Much better that the "pop-up" type.

Comments about BowNet The Bow Net Big Mouth Practice Screen:
The ONLY practice screen worth having. It makes all the other nets look poorly designed. Not only does it work better than other options, but more importantly it is so easy to setup and break down. The 10U softball team I currently coach can do this by themselves (although they do need to step on bucket to reach the top loops). Less then 2 minutes up and less than 2 minutes down.
We use this for tee work, soft toss, throwing drills, pitching drills, target practice - you name it. I even use it as a screen for batting practice (just don't stand too close to it).
Also because it is a screen and very stable you can use both sides of it at the same time so you can have two groups of players working in a small area. I ended up buying two of these and I had 4 batting stations going on at the same time while we all coached from the middle.
I highly recommend the Big Mouth net over the straight net. That way you don't have to worry about many balls bouncing back to the hitter and getting in their stance.
Lastly the carry case is well made and makes it very easy to carry. Also when packed in the case it is very light and very easily carried over the shoulder.
