Nokona Pro Line Series 12 1/2" Firstbase Baseball Mitt
A true baseball leather for true baseball players. Pro-Line's Sandstone leather was introduced to retail last year to much success. This year - we've made it better. By combining Buckskin (richly oiled leather) to the rigid sandstone (Pro-Line) leather we have given this series the best of everything. Lined with buckskin, this glove feels great right from the shelf; coupled with the sandstone leather the shape and rigidity baseball players demand. A true baseball glove at it's finest!

Comments about Nokona Pro Line 12 1/2" Firstbase Mitt:
I bought this glove for my son who plays on an elite tournament team, I wanted him to have something that he could use for many years to come and the glove worked out great. It's soft on the outside, but the inside is very rigid and takes some breaking in which I expect from a glove that I want to last for years. It's not cheap, but it's worth it for him to have a quality glove that he can use for the long term.

Comments about Nokona Pro Line 12 1/2" Firstbase Mitt:
An injury forced my move to 1B from the outfield late in college ball and this is the glove I've used.
--> I wear my glove with the shift method I leave the index stall empty, index finger in the middle stall, middle & ring & pinky fingers in the pinky stall. The glove does have little protection in the palm but Nokona is meant for the more experienced player w/ the ability to catch in the web consistently. The method of wear significantly saves my palm from pain. Also, there is greater closure power and it's allowed this glove to break-in to it's full potential. I like my gloves with a "floppier" break-in and after a year's use this glove is to that point. Yes, it "breaks-in" quickly but there's a difference between that break-in after time.
--> The back leather is heavier but extremely sturdy (the glove is pretty heavy in general). The entire web is built from the same leather and it looks great and plays great too. The lacing is much thicker in the web area so there's no stretching/tightening/eventual breakage in the lace. The lacing at the bindings is definitely adequate too.
--> The glove does fit a little big and I have big hands, so parents beware. The biggest drawback from the glove is the rear enclosure. I prefer an open back and this glove reinforces my reasoning for that. The leather strap, after hundreds of practices and countless games, stretches over time (especially w/ sweat). It's gotten to the point where I need constantly tighten the strap and, even at that, it does not do much good. It's a little bigger than 12.75" too, especially after consistent use. Mine measures about 13-13.25" now. The glove is really
--> Bottom line, I do love this glove, it's my primary now over my OF trapeze wed and I never thought I'd say that. A great buy if you're familiar with what to expect from Nokona.
