My daughter's coach recommended she have a mask to wear while pitching. The first game she played in after getting the mask she took a line drive to the face. The mask worked! My daughter would have had a broken nose and possibly a concussion if she was not wearing it. I could not thank the coach enough for recommending it. The metal construction makes it strong with minimum interference of vision. I highly recommend this mask.

When your daughter moves up to 16s or 18s the speed of the game increases dramatically and with the alum bats and the pitching speeds these balls can come like cannons to your daughters face and better safe than sorry to wear a mask. My daughter plays 3rd and has had many near misses. I don't care how good your kid is and how lucky they've been I don't ever want mine to have to experience that devastating blow to the face for anything especially for softball. All should be required to wear one. They are great good visibility, good fit, after you get used to it you don't even know its there.
