started playing ball again this year...used a friends bat also alluminum didn't get the pop i wanted. Got this bat and already saw a difference. I am usually a line drive hitter. this bat is turning me into a huge gap hitter. Never could pull the ball until i got this bat....great balance.

I purchased the 2011 Ultimate Weapon (2011 UW), to be used in my all male recreational softball league.
I started out with the 34" bat, and 26oz weight.

I also like this bat because it will meet the requirements for all softball leagues in my area as it is non-composite and single walled.

This bat is very good compared to the other $70-$80 bats that my team mates have and is worth the additional price bump. I feel more comfortable swinging this bat, it feels well balances and has a comfortable grip for me.

The bat took about 1.5 games (about 30-40 team at bats) of use to finally break in to a point where we were getting some power transfer. Once the bat was broken in a bit, balls that were infield drives suddenly got a bit of lift and some nice power and became solid drives to the outfield.

I would not classify this bat as a home run bat, but something great for those line drive singles, doubles and triples! I have had the bat for 3 weeks now and am happy with how it is breaking in.

I would classify this bat as a little pricy above $100, but with a bit of shopping around, I was able to find it at a local shop for under $95 after a coupon discount.

I also went out and got the 28oz version, and will see if the additional weight helps create a bit more long bomb power.

The Ultimate Weapon used to be the best bat available for single wall bat leagues. The newer versions of this bat are nowhere near as lively as the older versions. I suspect the walls were thickened to reduce the number of bats replaced in warranty. The bottom line is that I am going to start looking for a better single wall bat.

Each year goes by and the ultimate weapon becomes more of a disappointment. There is no pop in this bat. My 8 years old ultimate weapon has more pop.
