This doesn't just snap on. After a night of trying to figure out how I best wanted to "modify" my son's helmet, doing it wasn't too difficult. It did call for taking out the snap that was installed on the helmet. I didn't end up needing to drill any holes. Next time should be easier since I have done once. Overall, my son is happy to be out from behind a mask on his helmet, and I'm happy to have some protection there.

I purchased 2 of these on two different occasions for both of my boys. They provide better visibility than a mask without giving up facial protection. My older son was hit in the face with a fast ball while wearing a c-flap. He said the flap did bend and the foam on the inside of the flap hit his mouth, but it did not hurt very much...certainly not as much had he not been wearing facial protection!
As far as attaching the c-flaps, I did have to drill 2 holes in each of the helmets to get them attached. The first installation took me a little over half an hour(including studying the instructions), but the second time I did it in about 20 minutes. Overall, we really like the product.
