These are the right kneesavers for an adult catcher. But the connecting rings are too narrow for the hooks and straps on the Mizuno catcher's gear. Instead of just putting these on, we had to disassemble the straps on the leg-guards. Give yourself an extra twenty minutes for that exercise and you're good to go.

They really are "knee savers", they cut down the angle of the knee bend when you go down to crouch, less tension on the joints. After a long game, my knees aren't too sore, if at all, so a doubleheader or catching the next day are a possibility.

I haven't tried the updated version, these seam good enough, but they can get a little hot. Installation is simple, and these can last for years.

HOWEVER, coaches, dads, I see a lot of kids nowadays who use knee savers from day 1 of catching, and never ever see them get off them. They are always sitting on them, and with runners on, they don't go to the more athletic and ready position. They get too comfortable on these foam blocks.

I really thought that these were going to slow my son down as catcher, and when he used them it seemed like they were rubbing together a bit. I asked him if he wanted me to take them off before the next inning and he said to leave them on that he liked them. I was shocked because they looked a bit cumbersome, but they were actually great.
