My daughter absolutely loves this bat. She plays on a 16U club team as well as for her school. Her teams are highly competitive with her school taking the state championship this past year and her club team taking state runner up in their bracket. She has this bat and the new CF5 in her bag right now and prefers this one. The bat has a great feel to it. It's balanced with just enough weight at the end to swing quick and still send the ball a mile. Even though it is a drop 12 and the CF5 a drop 10, they feel similiar because of the weighting, but this one definitely comes around quicker. I do quite a bit of research before buying a bat and I'll spend what it takes if it'll give her an advantage. As a result she's tried quite a few of the high end top of the line bats including the Easton Stealths and Demarini CF4 and CF5's. All are great bats and highly recommended. The Eastons have a heavier feel to them. The Demarini's have a lighter feel which she prefers against the quicker pitchers. This feels more similiar to the Demarini's but with more weight at the end. The only complaint I've really seen on this bat is that it makes a different sound than a normal composite bat does when the ball is hit. To me that's not really a negative at all. It sounds more like a hit from a wooden bat. It's more of a cracking sound. I say who cares what it sounds like when you hit the ball. The fact is that you hit the ball and you're running the bases. My daughter absolutely loves hitting with this bat. Durability hasn't been an issue as it has held up well, so far just some scratches from tossing it while running to first. I highly recommend this bat and would definitely purchase it again.

this bat makes a shattering noise when you hit with it. IT doesn't sting but there is no pop at all.

i had the tps mendoza and with it was a singles hitter. my coach let me use his daughter's old catalyst. it had to be 3 years old. the next game, my first at bat i smacked a triple into the wind. i used the bat for the rest of the season and ended with 5 homeruns and lots of triples. i decided it was time to get my own so i went with the newest model of the catalyst. i just got it today and am breaking it in. it already has amazing pop and great balance. i can already tell this is a quality bat im so excited to use it in games this year!
