My daughter is 13 and got a line drive to the cheek a couple years ago,which in turn, made her "ball" shy for a while. Many girls that we played against began wearing the protective face masks and eventually some members in our league began wearing them. We purchased one this season and at first, my daughter didn't like it, but she has gotten used to it and it gives her and me piece of mind.

The face mask helps people who flinch when fielding grounders. It helps me to overcome my fear, since I have the mask for protection. Yes, it is not stylish, but protection is more important. It is very comfortable and stays in place. It doesn't block vision, but it does take getting used to.

My daughter is a High school pitcher and has had this mask for at least 5 years now. She had no obstruction of vision at all from the 1st time she put it on, it is light wt., but vey durable, and makes me feel alot better about all those hard hit balls coming right back at her on the mound! She has had no complaints about putting it on & wearing it, and that is very important! You don't want anything to be distracting during the game!

Gameface's are required on my daughter's tournament fastpitch team....we have several teams ages U10 to U18, and all the girls wear them. These are very competetive and skilled players, and it makes me nervous for other teams that do not use these masks, because it only takes one line drive or bad hop to realize the benefit of these masks. I absolutely recommend the use of the Gameface mask.

I have not been in favor of getting this for our daughter. Our former travel ball coach did not require it for pitchers or infield. We switched teams and the organization requires all pitchers and infield to use them. She has taken too it but there is an adjustment period for her when she has been on the mound just having it on. She says she does feel more protected with it on.

This is sold as a Men's Baseball Face Protector. However, it does not protect - a baseball fits through the opening across the eyes - not straight on but at a slight angle. Protection should be complete protection, not just lucky protection.
