my daughter was pitching when a batter hit a ball right for her face. there was no time for her to react so the ball hit her right in the face. luckly she never steps out on to the field without her mask. althogh it scared her she was not hurt at all and neither was the mask!

I did not like the plastic mask. My plastic mask cracked 5 times in my bat bag. If I had worn this mask when I got hit in the face, it would have hurt my eye even more. It is very hard to see out of. You loose the ball when you try to field grounders or balls period. I would not recommend this one. I recommend the metal one.

I am a 15 year old girl who plays third base. I bought this mask two years ago and I love it! The girls on my teams always tease me about wearing it,but it has made me a more aggressive player. I feel very safe when I use this mask. My parents also love it because it saves them a trip to the ER or orthodontist :) I would and do tell all infielders to own one of these masks! This mask is very comfortable and light weight. I liked it a ton better compared to other masks I tried on. And it isn't bulky nor does it get in your line of vision on the field.

Im Thirteen and currently have braces. Ive seen many girls get concussions while pitching due to wearing no mask. I got one of these a year ago and i absolutely love it. Its very comfortable and makes you feel well protected. I use it to pitch and play first base as well as any other infield position.

My daughter plays softball and prefers the single strap to the type that have a strap that also goes over the top of the head, she finds it more comfortable. She also likes that she could choose a color to individualize it, even though the color isn't very outwardly visible. I purchased the adult size for her (she's 12) knowing the child size would not fit much longer, so I feel the adult size is a little wide for her face but she loves it and finds it very comfortable to wear.

For female softball players, it can be tough convincing them that they need a face guard, especially when most guards are so homely and cumbersome looking. I've had better luck with the Defender mask which is light, but very sturdy, and looks functional without appearing bulky or strapped-in, like competing models.
