I am a coach working with 11-14 year old players. I bought this catcher's mitt so kids on my team could use it and feel more comfortable catching for pitchers who throw hard. It is awesome! Everyone who has tried it out has said that the pocket is perfect, even when it was brand new.

I would not recomend for any one with big hands it hurts your fingers so bad you cant wear it my daughters hands hurt for days and the glove is real stiff.

Very hard to break in. Puts my daughter's hand in an uncomfortable position. Glove is too small for her hand (14U catcher). Very little protection. Ball pops out of glove constantly. Wish I had the [$] back to put toward the Nokona.

We bought this glove at the beginning of the school-ball season. I was very worried about doing this because it may take a long time to break in. I applied leather softener to it. I placed a 12" ball in the pocket every day with a rubberband wrapped around it. We then pitched 120 or so balls from a pitching machine into it from 40' @ 60mph. It performed great and I would definitly recommend it. [@]

I bought this glove because I own other Mizuno Gloves (Outfield, Infield, Pitcher), and Catcher's Equipment. I've been impressed by all.

This Glove however, I've had a REALLY hard time breaking in. I've even baked it over a dozen times. Oiled it, Practiced with it etc. It's still very stiff. I played one game with it, and I had a hard time keeping the ball in the glove.

Can't frame if the ball don't stay in the glove. It might be that I just got a bad glove?? I paid less for each of the other gloves and their great... I expected more out of this one.

Mizuno Gloves are great, but this catchers Mitt is way too small in the fingers. I have small hands and this thing is way too tight. Dad's beware if this is for catching your daughter. It will stretch but not a lot.

This glove is marketed here as a 34.5, one of the reasons I chose it after looking at the selections.
It is actually a 34 according to Mizuno.
Very stiff at first. After 2 hours of constant messaging, bending and working the leather, I got it half decent. Still too stiff to use in a game.

I am a former D1 college softball catcher. I bought the mitt as a gift for my daughter, who is a pitcher & catcher for a U14 travel softball team. I use the glove when catching for my daughter and love the feel of the glove and the protection it offers. Initially the fit was tight, but my daughter was able to break it in easily and loves it as well.
