Need a left handed mitt in short notice for a small sixth grade girl and this did the trick. No break-in period so easy to close for smaller hands. Worked perfectly.

I bought this glove after I read the reviews that stated this glove fit younger girls and was well broken in out of the box, this was all true. The mit has been a great starter you will need a larger mitt when transitioning to a 12 inch ball. If your daughter is 10u or younger and thinks she wants to be a catcher and you don't want to invest big money until she moves to the 12 inch ball, this is a great investment.

Mizuno produces the finest mitts for youth - bar none. This mitt is spot on for a younger hand. Daughter plays fastpitch and this mitt allows for quick reaction time, easy closure and snaps around a ball. Easy to break in. I suggest very little break in, use Nokona treatment to set the hand and pocket. The mitts down side is the leather is not intended to last more than a season. Makes sense as more expensive mitts would never work for younger players because they are too tough to break in or close. Spot on price - perfect mitt.

For a small grill's hand and a nearly 9 year old at that it's darn near impossible to find a mitt online. However, this mitt was excellent as are all from this manufacture. From the get go we didn't have to break it in. Flexed easy, and was soft to the feel. This glove has such an unbelievable ability to snatch and hold a ball - way impressive. She catch's travel fastball and for my 12u son for practice. This mitt does it all.
