I use this mitt in practice, catching my husband who pitches C fastpitch. Previously I used a hardball mitt and this one has much less padding, so I was a little worried to start with, but so far it's fine. It took about 4 one-hour practice sessions for it to break in enough for me to be able to catch most of his pitches. I still have trouble with the knuckleball, but I think that's my fault, not the mitt! I've only had it a few months, so I can't comment on durability.

I bought this glove for my 8 year old daughter who catches every inning of her softball games that are back to back. She was complaining of stinging because of no padding in her other glove. i bought her this Valkyrie catchers glove and had it broken in. Now no more complaining and no more ball popping out of her glove. She loves it and has improved her game.I recommend this glove any catcher because it looks good and worked very well for my daughter.

DD was using a 34" mitt in the fall that seemed to be too big and was cumbersome. Thought it was her mechanics. Switched to the 33" Valkryie during winter training and saw a dramatic change right away. Glove was easier to control and thus didn't throw off her mechanics. Something as simple as moving to a slightly smaller mitt made all the difference.
