We have a 9 yr old beginning pitcher. The raised seams are great and easy for her to use/find proper placement. She loves them! These balls are actually much nicer than the ones our league uses for game balls, which are synthetic. Downside: 1st game we took them to they were of course brand new and so nice we think the ump mistakenly gave one away to the (other) home team thinking it WAS the game ball, which it wasn't!
